Frequently asked

Is the PS5 Pro worth it for GTA 6?
It depends on your setup. If you have a 4K TV, care a lot about the smoothest frame-rate and sharpest image, plan to play other PS5 Pro–enhanced games and your budget is flexible, the Pro is likely worth it. If you mainly want to play GTA 6 and own a standard PS5 already, the base console is a confirmed GTA 6 platform and will run it well. Crucially, Rockstar has not yet detailed GTA 6’s PS5 Pro enhancements, so part of this is still an educated guess.
Will GTA 6 be better on PS5 Pro?
Probably, but it is not confirmed. The PS5 Pro has a more powerful GPU and upscaling, so on paper it can offer higher resolution or frame-rate in a game as demanding as GTA 6. However, Rockstar has not announced specific GTA 6 PS5 Pro enhancements, so we can’t promise exact gains. We’ll update this tool when Rockstar confirms how GTA 6 takes advantage of the Pro.
Does GTA 6 need a PS5 Pro?
No. GTA 6 launches on the standard PS5 (and Xbox Series X|S) on 19 November 2026. The PS5 Pro is an optional upgrade for people who want the best possible image quality and frame-rate — it is never required to play the game.
Should I wait before buying a PS5 Pro for GTA 6?
If it’s a close call for you, waiting is reasonable. Rockstar hasn’t detailed GTA 6’s PS5 Pro enhancements, and seeing the official performance modes before you spend means you’ll know exactly what the Pro buys you for this specific game.

This tool is advice, not a spec sheet — there’s no credibility risk in helping you decide. We keep it honest: GTA 6’s PS5 Pro enhancements aren’t confirmed, so where it’s a genuine toss-up we say “wait for the official details” rather than push a purchase.
